To Run or Not to Run...

Since I finally started working in the daytime like a normal person (yea for not being a vampire anymore!) I decided I really had no excuse to not work out anymore. When I first started working I tried really hard to go to the gym and work out with Jordan and some of the other trainers, but after doing that for a couple months I realized I was just too worn out most of the time...not to mention after one particularly intense leg work out I squatted to reset someone's IV pump and couldn't get up...always fun, of course. So today was my first day off after starting day shift and Jordan texted me and said we should go run at Lake Hefner...I mean, I did tell him to hound me about working out after I had a normal schedule so I agreed. I told him I was going to go slow because it had seriously been 3 months since I had done any sort of running (thanks to the Memorial Marathon, I think I got burned out and I dont think running down Runyon Canyon in L.A. counts). So I think I'm all prepared to go "running" and 3 minutes in I'm cursing myself for agreeing to this. I do better running alone with no pressure and going my own pace. And it's no fun to run with someone who is bad A trainer. At one point while I was wlking, which happened a lot, a biker passed and said, "It's hard going into the wind, huh?". If only that were the problem, sir, if only. As soon as I finished (finally) I determined I was officially out of shape. I'm really ashamed actually. I try to eat well, but that's not the only part of being healthy, so here's to my venture to becoming a healthier me! And not dying when I "run" what I found out was approximately 2.24 miles, a distance I used to run easily...and hopefully will again soon! Also, this is funny...
